How Compartis^® Streamlines a Lab Owner’s Work

As the owner of Clements Dental Lab, a two-person dental lab in Atlanta, Georgia, Ines Clements often felt stretched for time. So when a DENTSPLY representative offered her a trial of Compartis, she jumped at the chance to streamline the dental restoration process.

Before Compartis, Clements created her copings by waxing them up, investing and casting them – a practice that was very time consuming.

Compartis sped up the process by allowing Clements to outsource the creation of time-consuming metal copings. By perfecting the open architecture CAD design file at the lab, Clements ensures her signature remains on the end product without having to cast the copings herself. The casings are then inspected before being sent back to Clements’ lab, where she performs the final porcelain application.

“It's a big time saver” Clements says of Compartis. “Before using the Compartis USA services, it took a lot of time to wax and cast the copings ourselves. Now, we can provide a short turnaround time. With Compartis services, we get everything scanned, get the restorations back quickly, and always have someone to talk to if we have questions.”

Compartis also allows Clements to offer her clients zirconia cases without having to purchase an expensive milling machine. Her favorite part, though, is the newfound free time.

“The process has allowed me to complete work at a realistic time each day” Clements says. “I’ve even been able to clock out at noon on a Friday, which hasn’t happened in a long time!”
